Taylor Swift, the rarest pop star, is one who has managed to cross over from country music to mainstream pop culture, becoming an idol of the pop culture. She also conquered the entire globe in the process. Swift left her heritage in country music like a second-skin, and revealed that she was the most refined pop sensibility in her time. Swift was the only musician/singer to be a part of the trending zeitgeist and take it out on the road. The skills she displayed were apparent on her earliest hits especially the Neo-tribute Tim McGraw but her second album 2008's Fearless featured a singer-songwriter figuring out her true identity and, in doing so, gaining the mass market. Fearless was successful not only in the United States, having six platinum-certified singles. The Top Ten songs Love Story and the hit song You Belong with Me were the most important reasons. It also performed exceptionally well throughout the world. Swift reached the heights of the charts when she released Speak Now. Swift's popularity grew over the course of the three albums that followed - Red (2012) 1989 (2014) and Reputation (2017). Swift had now established herself in the genre she was a part of. When she reduced her sound to the stripped-down versions of 2020, folklore, and Evermore, she still remained on top. The position was defended with the re-recordings she had made from her earlier catalog as in Midnights the synth-based chart-topper 2022 album.
